Annie is a Cultural Competency Specialist and Trauma Specialist through the American School Counselor Association and is the Region 4 Director for NCAE Student Services Division. She is on a DPI committee to revise NC’s School Counseling Standards and is the Co-VP of Government Relations for the North Carolina School Counselor Association after serving as an Emerging Leader. Annie has presented about trauma-sensitive practices at NCSCA’s state conference and Summer Learning Institute, and about school counselor advocacy at NCSCA’s state-wide webinars. Annie was recently named one of the US Department of Education’s School Ambassador Fellows and is completing a community-wide capstone project. When she’s not at school, Annie loves to run, play with her two rescue dogs, and read!
