Daniel Fugazot is a K-5 ELA Consultant for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, where he supports the work of the Office of Academic Standards statewide. He previously worked as a literacy coach in Durham County Public Schools and as a teacher in both Wake and Richmond County Schools. Daniel earned a B.S. in Childhood Education and an M.Ed. in B-6 Literacy Education from the State University of New York College at Cortland. Originally from Monroe, NY, he has spent the past decade serving North Carolina schools. His goal is to build educators’ capacity to make research-informed decisions that prioritize student success and equity. Daniel currently resides in Clayton, NC, with his wife and two daughters.
